NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS
Tom Arnold, founder of TRA Certification, & Garry Puffer are part of the team of TRA Certification's "Green" program. TRA-Green is based in Elkhart, Indiana and exists specifically to verify the energy-efficiency and environmental-friendliness claims made for the various materials and components that go into a modular home. They ensure that these materials and components have the proper certifications to be accepted as green-compliant.
They verify the green status of the factory built, assembly itself, including its materials and components. They also verify that the manufacturer is "green capable" - that each claimant has the processes, materials, and components in place to produce a green assembly.
TRA Verified Green Building Materials Directory was created to assist the green assembly manufacturer, modular-home builder, and modular-home buyer in finding products they can be certain are green-qualified. The manufacturers "Green Capable" Honor Roll provides you with a list of green certified producers.
TRA Certification participates in (and follows standards and specifications of) numerous green-building initiatives - LEED (U.S. Green Building Council), NAHB, and ANSI approved, ICC 700- 2008 National Green Building Consensus Standard.
"Backing our efforts are decades of international accreditation experience in certifying Quality Management Systems, including those with environmental aspects." Arnold says.
